How Cool Is Cool? Johnny is "Cool" and how cool is that!
Johnny is undoubtedly the most colorful golfer ever to set foot on the course at which I volunteer on Sundays. Known by his buddies (with whom he plays their four man Sunday morning scramble) as "Cool" has an incredible collection of matching kicker.
The "Gang" consists of Sam, Mike, Major and sometimes Chris and when together there is never a dull moment at times leaving me laughing to tears. These very dedicated golfers take their game and bragging rights seriously and it's rather refreshing to see the camaraderie that has developed and continues to evolve thanks to the game of golf and the meaningful and lasting friendships that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Golfbytez would like to feature the work of Julian, an amazing photographer who accompanied myself and Henry as we played a few holes of golf last week. Julian is a talented young artist with an incredible eye and a lens that captures the imagination of his curious mind. We all enjoyed that cool winter afternoon on the course with nothing but nature and the elusive game of golf to take your thoughts away.

FAMU's Campus Recreation Golf Club has started a new semester of golf clinics by the practice green Seminole Golf Course. A great deal of the participants had never played golf before but was excited and eager to learn. They were introduced to the basics and in no time started practicing their chipping. At the end of the session we all went to the driving range to see just how challenging it really was to drive the ball. The sky was overcast and the temperature was cool so two and a half hours tat morning went by quickly. Just "another great day at Campus rec." Here are some of the members of the club along with a photo of Ashley practicing her chipping. Great job all of you.

I was invited to a 10:10 tee time to play with George and his regular golfing buddies last Monday. Make no mistake those guys can play some golf! I played nine holes with them before having to leave to attend a meeting and was amazed by their youthfulness, whit and ability to keep their concentration in the very worm mid morning sun. These three gentlemen have been playing as a group for a while at the Seminole Golf Club with other seniors every Monday and it is so wonderful to see mostly retired golfers of all ages participate in a sport that delivers such incredible stresses on ones body. Well done you guys, and thanks for the invitation. (L-R) George, Sam and Frank)

Just another great day with Campus Rec's Golf Club and Friends, playing together for the first time at the Jake Gaither Golf Course. We were all gathered together at 8am and played nine holes before the heat became too hot to handle. It was such a special surprise for Eric to invite his dad and for Henry who hadn't played in a while to meet Ron, Daulton, Anthony, Sarge and the rest of the group. What made this outing even more memorable was that a few members in the group had never played nine holes of golf on a course before and this was indeed a very special moment for us all to remember. Well done gentlemen.
