With golf it seems as you strengthen one aspect of your game something else falls apart. My latest frustration is putting. Lately I tend to be overcompensating my putting stroke by moving my body and head too much especially on the long ones. Putting for me was never an issue but since I have been concentrating on improving my drive and practicing with my #4 hybrid I can't even sink the easy ones.
Sometime ago I remembered seeing a video by Jeff Ritter from Jeff Ritter Golf one of the "world's most prominent golf instructors" about putting and revisited it to see if he had any advice for my dilemma, and sure enough voila! In this video Jeff explains that a lot of "golfers use their bodies way too much when they putt and this is the result of golfers thinking they have to move their shoulders back and forth in a rocking movement to create a nice pendulum stroke" so! after observing myself putting in the mirror I seem to be guilty of this age old issue. Here is a video entitled "Pendulum Putting" by Jeff addressing the issues I am having. Just remember it doesn't matter how well you can drive the ball, if you can't putt you won't bring home the bacon.
