When playing with a very experienced golfer one Friday afternoon and having a hard time getting out of the bunker I was told first never to seat my club in the sand and second to lay the sand wedge flat and with a full swing hit about two inches behind the ball, or to imagine the ball was sitting in the middle of a bagel and try to hit the bagel out of the sand. That surely helped. by R. Dodger

written by Club Byter on January 20, 2009 Here's one for you, Being a new golfer I'm always looking for new tips found in golf articles or on the internet. While surfing the web I came across an article published on the Golf Tips magazine's website written by Jeff Ritter entitled "Awkward Lies" where he speaks about how to "Master golf's most difficult bunker shots". In this article he addresses "playing the ball as it lies". This article clearly illustrates with photographs how to remedy five very challenging ball lies as follows: "Down Hill Lie, Ball Below Feet, Ball Above Feet, Plugged Lie and Uphill Lie. Trying these very useful suggestions outlined in Jeff's article has been very beneficial to me. Check this article out at http://www.golftipsmag.com/ins...-lies.html it is a must read. by Club Byter report abuse

written by Golf Addict on January 21, 2009 Hay Club Byter I went to that site and liked what Jeff Ritter had to say and have tried some of his tips and they are pretty cool. I also went to his website and he has published an online resource "Golf by Design" http://www.golfbydesign.net/wiki which you must read also. I also contacted him and spoke to him for a while, not only is he well informed about the game but real easy to talk to. Thanks Jeff. by Golf Addict report abuse
