I hadn't played or practiced in over three weeks. Instead of going to the practice range to re-groove my swing I went and played five rounds of golf in two weeks. Bad idea!
I got caught up in keeping track of scoring even with though I was making a lot of very bad shots, instead of doing what I was accustomed to which was practice, practice, practice first. Not only was I tormented by my swing evading me I was haunted by the fact that I might have misplaced it and how long would it take to recover it. I started doing all the don'ts.
My grip became very tight, my muscles tense, my takeaway and back swing became rushed and I stared my downswing with my shoulders and not my hips. Boy was it frustrating. So I went in search of my swing at my neighborhood practice field and it took me three weeks of regular practice to get a glimpse of striking the ball properly again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Practice grooving your swing on a practice range regularly and you will play better golf when you get on the course. Matt B.
