I seem to be having difficulty in a number of areas with my golf swing. I have trouble shifting my weight efferently. My divit seems to be starting prior to me making contact with the ball. I have difficulty keeping my wrist cocked on impact and I am having the hardest time compressing the ball. Any advice anyone?
Being a relatively new golfer I sometimes have great difficulty not popping the ball straight up when using my driver on the tee box. This typically happens with my first shot on the first tee. I came across an article on the Golf Tips Magazine website written by Dean Headstrom that explains the reason for this mis-hit is "most often caused by an excessive forward weight shift on the downswing and a club that approaches the ball on a very steep angle of attack." Click to read this article in its entirety and it might help you as it has helped me. Golf Addict
Most
golfers, seasoned veterans or beginners, don’t know how to properly
repair ball marks. I
have attached a YouTube link that shows how to repair a ball mark. Tim M.
Many times, golf shots are off line due to the clubface being open or
closed at impact. This can be caused by a poor grip, poor alignment or
simply having the club open or closed at address. At 150 yards, a
clubface open or closed only one degree at impact will send the ball 7
yards off line. If you are having trouble with errant golf shots,
experiment on the driving range with different grips, alignments, and
clubface angles. Then check ball flight and make adjustments
accordingly. Bill Z.
