Wakulla High School Golf Team Heads To State Championships.
We had the pleasure of meeting some of the members of the Wakulla High School Golf Team at the Big Bend Hospice Wakulla Golf Tournament on Friday, October 30, 2009. They were the team to beat at the Big Bend Hospice tournament where they placed first in the 1st flight. Playing in this event was Coach Mike Smith, his son Conner, William Davis, and Jeremy Cochran. Other team-mates who were absent here was Stone Cowie and Spencer, another of Coach Smith's sons.
While covering this tournament both Conner and Jeremy made birdies on the 11th hole demonstrating their awesome golfing abilities and even more the reason why they took 1st place!

Hunting for balls in the Wild Woods of North Florida with clubs and wedge in hand and a few traps in sight.
Fore years while traveling the wonderful country side in Wakulla County Florida, on Hwy 98 to St George Island or some of the other beautiful beaches along the Big Bend coastline, I have driven past the Wildwood Golf Course and never stopped or even wondered what may lie beyond the seemingly unassuming marque, its buildings or water feature that quietly announces the presence of one of the very few golf courses in that area.
While being invited to cover the Big Bend Hospice Wakulla County Charitable Golf Tournament held at Wildwood Country Club on October 30th we had the pleasure of experiencing the warmth and true southern hospitality bestowed upon us by the Big Bend Hospice (BBH) staff, members of the board, volunteers, golfers participating in the tournament and those who worked at the Country Club.

When it comes to caring for the children in our community, nobody does it better than Cops For Kids!
Since this website's inception, it has been our mission to provide a forum for the golfing community to share worthwhile information. It has also been our primary focus to foster an environment dedicated to helping non-profit organizations reach their goals and objectives and this would not be possible without the generosity from a collective audience of golfing enthusiasts. We have been extremely fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve at some amazing golfing events and to be a part of something bigger than our selves.
Golfbytez.com would like to salute all these clubs and organizations, their members, volunteers, sponsors, golfers and establishments for their tireless efforts and never ending support by being a life line while keeping the dreams alive for these very worthy causes. I would also like to thank retired Law Enforcement Chief AJ Smith for inviting us to cover this event and embracing the significance of all that can be accomplished by people working together. Thanks AJ.

"Shoot The Moon" a Nighttime Golfing Experience. What a novel idea!
Q: Did you see it? A: Sort of.
Q: Where did it go? A: Somewhere over there.
Q: Where? A: I'm not sure; oh! here it is.
Q: Does it have my ball mark? A: I don't know; it's too dark.
Q: Where is the flashlight they gave us? A: In the cart.
Q: Where's the cart? A: I don't know; it's too dark. Q: Wish there was a moon? A: Oh no! Someone shot the moon.
On October 9, 2009 a charitable golf tournament to benefit "Keep Tallahassee-Leon County Beautiful" was held at Summerbrooke GolfClub in Tallahassee, Florida. The first nine holes of "Shoot The Moon" as it is called began at 5:30 pm while the evening sun was still high in the sky and continued after a supper break until about midnight on fairways illuminated with glow stick and pins marked with flashing rings of light. {Some of these glow-in-the-dark golfing products are available at Golf Etc.}
