On behalf of Gbytez Live! we would like to thank all the players and members of the North American One-Armed Golfer Association (NAOAGA) for giving us the opportunity to serve and be a part of their mission statement which is closely aligned with our philosophy of  unconditional  kindness:

"We will strive to promote the game of golf to those who play "one-handed" and organize international competitions at various championship venues across North America.
Beyond competition and recreation, we plan to provide a forum for discussing pertinent issues related to life with a disability and maintain a resource database that links to information regarding prosthetics, support groups, career opportunities, educational grants and scholarships, and legal rights."

Sharing in this experience has changed our lifes forever. These players have overcome obstacles that life has thrown their way, whether through birth defects or accidents, and they support each other to live life to the fullest. Golf has become a driving force by which to accomplish these goals and it is plain to see how much they enjoy both golf and life. They have not allowed their physical limitation to keep them from getting out and having a good time, while becoming exceptional golfers.

"NAOAGA National Championship" - The Tournament of Champions!

[After reading this or any story published on this site, please feel free to share your stories in the Add Comment section at the end of this or any other article, we would love to hear them.]

NAOAGA Banner at Practice GreenThe 9th Annual North American One-Armed Golfers Association Championship consisting of 47 golfers representing 18 States within the US, four Provinces in Canada and one European country began its four day event at a first class resort with these world class golfers.

PGA National at Palm Beach GardensMany of the world's great golfers, and today was no exception, have walked the halls and blessed the well manicured and beautifully landscaped courses with their presence at the exquisite PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was here that Y.E. Yang won the 2009 Honda Classic.

Vince registeringThis very gifted group of physically challenged members of the "NAOAGA" displayed their incredible athleticism, never ending positive outlook, and appreciation for life, which truly epitomizes the meaning of humility despite all they have endured. This has created such a lasing impression deep in my soul which at times leaves me speechless. Excerpts from a press release issued by "NAOAGA" highlighted a few golfers participating in this event: John Barton, Michael O'Grady, Mike Carver, Joshua Patton, Steve Quevillon, and Vince Biser who will be featured throughout this and future articles.

GOLF ETC. Tallahassee, located in the Best Buy Shopping Center on Apalachee Parkway rolled out the red carpet for their Grand Opening Celebration weekend on Friday, August 28th (at 12 noon) through August 30th. The Giveaways and Discounts were a blast

Show Me The MoneyThere was a $50 gift certificate given to the lucky winner who collected the most money in the Money Machine while the machine's fans were blowing. There were drawings for Callaway, Adams, Wilson and Nike products to name a few. Loopers Subs provided the eats and H2 Real Estate Group the refreshments. Guests had the privilege and enjoyment of trying various pieces of equipment especially the Doppler Base Launch Monitor that tracks your swing.

Some friends and guests present took a few minutes from having a fun time and checking out all the great stuff they have in the store to take a few pictures for Gbytez Live!

In The Path Of The Storm
Written by Rojah

With Claudette, the first storm to make landfall in the 2009 hurricane season, brewing off the Florida coast the Florida A&M University President's Cup Golf Tournament was resilient and emerged victorious. It was a very grey and damp morning at Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club in Tallahassee, Florida and the question on the minds of those coordinating and participating in this charitable golfing event was; would the storm impact the tournament? Miraculously the "Golf Gods" smiled favorably on the event and the cloud cover served as an insulator between the players and what otherwise would have been a brutally hot and humid, sunny day. Thanks Golf Gods!

Playing together were seasoned golfers and novices alike, from all over the southeast part of the U.S. This included dignitaries, sponsors, alumnus, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the University who came together for eighteen fun- filled holes with laughter, great conversation, and communal bonding was the thread that connected this charitable event.
