Last night Golfbytez Live! had the pleasure of attending and covering a very special golfing event. It was the birthday celebration of Steve, the owner of GOLF ETC. and the ever popular Wednesday Night Putting Contest at his store in Tallahassee, Florida.

Friends_and_customers_of_ SteveIn attendance were some of his closest friends, his Mom, fiance', and customers who made it despite the inclement weather. Here are some of the guests who attended the party last night.

Intense_CompetitionCompeting for prizes and bragging rights were golfers like Patrick who was one of the many serious putting competitors. This event is beginning to gain momentum and the good humored rivalry between the participants was rather obvious when friends, who minutes earlier were laughing and having a good time, became focused after stepping onto the indoor practice green. They tuned out the noise and sometimes comical comments intended to throw each other off their game.

Today's FSUPD Foundation's William Tanner Golf Tournament was Bigger and Better than ever.

Members of the golfing community came from far and wide to participate in this very worthy cause. This annual event was held at the Don Veller Golf Course and Club in beautiful Tallahassee Florida and was organized to assist well deserving recipients with scholarships and assistance to members of the department who have encountered major unforeseen misfortunes. The foundation was so fortunate to receive donations from such generous sponsors and Golfbytez.com was proud to be a part of this worthwhile event. The overwhelming support from the golfing community, only further reinforces the never ending generosity and kind heartedness that existed in our society today. (For a pre-recorded live coverage of today's highlights please visit Golfbytez.com in the very near future, go to EZ Golf Features and click on Golfbytez Live!)

Last years FSUPD Foundation's William Tanner Golf Tournament was a major success but this year promises to be even bigger. The proceeds of this annual event goes towards the FSU Police Department Foundation Scholarship Fund and the FSUPD Foundation. This Foundation not only helps with providing well deserving scholarships but assists members of the department who have encountered major unforeseen misfortunes. The department would really appreciate the support of the golfing community at large in this worthwhile event. By the way, all 4 par 3 holes will have hole-in-one prizes. The largest will be $10,000.00 cash. For more information please visit http://www.police.fsu.edu/

Capital City Cuz Classic, The Best Classic Ever
Written by Contest Entry

Cuz_classic This group of five amazing guys got together to make this years Capital City Cuz Classic the best classic ever. We had such a great time getting together and playing golf that is was truly a blessing. Both Tony (yellow shirt) and Darius (navy blue shirt) had their football careers vanish before their eyes due to severe injuries. Tony played for the Georgia Bulldogs and Darius for the NFL's 49ers when they both got badly injured in separate football related accidents. Bob, Darius and myself met up with Tony, Aviv and Coby on the third hole and shared some memorable golfing moments for the remaining six holes. Considering Darius lives in California and his birthday was yesterday we all want to wish him a belated happy birthday and don't forget to "Keep your head up and your eyes down."

The sixth annual Capital City Cuz Classic was a big success. In 2003 a small group of cousins got together to play a round of golf. Since that time they have made it a tradition of getting together once a year to play golf. At the end of the tournament prizes and trophies are presented to winners for various accomplishment. Bob and Darius are two of the three cousins that usually play this tournament every year. Since one member of the original group was unable to attend this years event I was invited as a special guest. Here is a picture of both Bob and Darius at the third hole at this year's classic held in beautiful Tallahassee, Florida.
